Cathy Weis Projects
537 Broadway, #3
Gary Chryst and William Whitener will share their experiences as leading dancers during the 1970s and ’80s. They performed with the Joffrey Ballet, where they worked directly with such guest choreographers as Leonide Massine, Kurt Jooss, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp. Whitener, who led Kansas City Ballet for 17 years, continues to choreograph, while Chryst often sets Fosse's musical Chicago in many cities. Video clips will accompany the conversation, which will be moderated by dance writer Wendy Perron.
This season, Sundays on Broadway will be held at 6 pm at WeisAcres (537 Broadway, #3). All events are free and open to the public. Reservations are not necessary. Please note, there will be no late seating after 6:15 pm. You can find more information about this event and subsequent ones here. Check out last month's Wall Street Journal article on Sundays on Broadway. And Claudia La Rocco's fall performance preview listing the series as one of her top picks.
