Lynn Gumpert, director of NYU's Grey Art Gallery, will engage artist Alice Aycock, whose art is currently on view at the Grey, in a conversation about her work.

Offered in conjunction with the exhibition "Alice Aycock Drawings: Some Stories Are Worth Repeating," on view at NYU's Grey Art Gallery (100 Washington Square East) from April 23 to July 13, 2013.

“Alice Aycock Drawings” features more than 100 works by a leading artist who is best known for massive sculptural works that span the divide between art, architecture, and science. Aycock’s drawings are a vital component of her creative process, and she uses them as a laboratory for developing the multi-layered complexities of her large installations. In addition to conveying specific information, the drawings are engaging aesthetic entities in their own right, combining pragmatic utilitarianism and imaginative fantasy. Also on view at the Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill, New York (from April 21 through July 14).
