Choosing from one of NYC's over 400 public high schools can be a tricky task. How do you decide where you go to school? And what's at stake? This past spring, a group of NYC public high school students from the Resilience Advocacy Project (RAP), teaching artist Douglas Paulson, and CUP investigated the high school application process. Through interviews, adventures, and a small time machine, they illuminated this daunting but mandatory milestone, and made a website to help break it down to middle school students, parents, and guidance counselors. Welcome to Old School New School. Please join us for the first-ever presentation of this project. The group will present their brand new website, a series of videos they produced, and a taste of their investigative process. Audience members will learn how the high school application process works in New York City and will get to take part in a question and answer session with the crew.
